Replacement of Address card

If you already have an official residential address abroad in the Hungarian Personal Data and Address Register and you would like to replace your lost address card or amend your details on it (e.g. incorrect details or name change), you can request a new address card in our Office.

***

Who needs to attend the appointment?

Requests can be submitted in person. For minors, we need both parents to attend the appointment.

What do I need to submit upon my visit?

  • Request forms (one with your personal details and address and another one to request the address card itself)
  • Valid Hungarian passport or national ID card
  • Original Hungarian address card in case a correction has to be made since it will be replaced. This obviously doesn’t concern you if you lost your address card.
  • Proof of marital status – if you are married/divorced/widowed, you need to submit your Hungarian marriage certificate/late spouse’s death certificate
  • For minors, the child’s Hungarian birth certificate and both parents’ valid ID is required (for non-Hungarian citzens the following IDs can be accepted: for citizens of any EU member state, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland passport or national ID, for all other countries passport only).

When will I receive my new address card?

New address cards usually arrive within 2-3 months. You will receive an e-mail notification.
