DIPLOMATIC ATTESTATION - Embassy of Hungary in

DIPLOMATIC ATTESTATION

Kindly be informed that although most attestations are done on the spot, in case you need many copies attested, it could take a few hours or days.

First of all, why do I need diplomatic attestation? The logic of this is that if you need to use an official document in any country other than the issuing country (e.g. you wish to use your child’s UAE birth certificate to register his/her birth in Hungary), you need to verify the document’s authenticity in front of the other country’s authorities.

Please be informed that our Embassy only has legal authorization to attest UAE-issued documents to be used in Hungary. If you wish to attest Hungarian documents to be used in the UAE, attestation procedure can be completed only in Hungary. Who needs to attend the appointment?

The request can be submitted in person. Anyone can submit the request – for example, you can submit your employer’s company papers or your niece’s degree certificate on behalf of the owner of the document.

What do I need to submit upon my visit?

(1) Valid photo ID & (2) original hard copy of the document with UAE MOFA attestation already on it.

Valid photo ID (for Hungarian citizens passport or national ID, for non-Hungarian citizens passport or Emirares ID).

We can attest your document only if it has already been stamped and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in the UAE. We need this because we have to check the MOFA stamp and signature on your document to see if it’s identical to the ones on our MOFA-approved list of specimens. Please note that we can only attest documents that were attested by MOFA after July 2023. If your document has an older MOFA attestation on it, kindly contact the Ministry to reobtain the attestation.
