CLIENT GATE+

 

The Client Gate+ is the Hungarian government's electronic customer login and identification system, ensuring users a secure way to contact electronic public administration and service providers while verifying their identity. Any natural person can set up a Client Gate+, regardless of citizenship.

 

From 16 January 2025 the original login method to the Client Gate will be replaced by Client Gate+. You can find out more here: https://kau.gov.hu/dap/sugo/ugyfelkapu-plusz. Client Gate as a service will NOT be discontinued, the only thing changing is the login method – the previous single-factor (username and password) login will be replaced by two-factor authentication (username and password and a code generated by an authenticator application).

Who needs to attend the appointment?

Requests can be submitted strictly in person.

 

What kinds of applications can I submit? 

-          Registering a new Client Gate account

-          Deleting an existing Client Gate account

-          Modifying an existing Client Gate account (e.g. name change, new passport)

Please note that registration in the Digital Citizenship (DÁP) mobile application is not possible at embassies, only at government offices in Hungary. 
 

What do I need to submit upon my visit?

-          Verification of identity

         o   For Hungarian citizens: valid Hungarian passport, national ID or driving license

         o   For EEA citizens (EU + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and citizens of Switzerland: valid EEA/Swiss passport or national ID card 

         o   For all other citizens: valid passport only

-          Valid e-mail address
