Péter Magyar is the Prime Minister of Hungary, Anita Orbán is the new Foreign Minister

Péter Magyar is the Prime Minister of Hungary since 9 May 2026, Anita Orbán is the new Foreign Minister since 12 May 2026.

On 9 May 2026, the new Parliament held its inaugural session, where President Tamás Sulyok asked Péter Magyar, the President of TISZA, who had won a two-thirds majority in the parliamentary elections on 12 April to form a government. The Parliament elected Péter Magyar as Prime Minister by a large majority.

On 12 May 2026, one day after the hearings of the Parliamentary committees, Anita Orbán was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary by the President, Prime Minister Péter Magyar also entrusted her with the duties of a Deputy Prime Minister.
